250R wiring....grrr

Default 250R wiring....grrr

Ok today I took out all the wires I don't need an solderd in new ones, and still the same exact problem ales me, no spark to the coil from the black/yellow wire, the green ground wire lights that testlight up like crazy but thats not really what I need...LOL...I made a diagram and put it on my pics page, made in nice and big....I am saying that it HAS TO BE THE CDI....what do you think tho ?

CDI unit failing is not unheard of. If your resistances are correct between the CDI coupler and the components they go to, I guess that's what your left with. Again, I don't use a test light to troubleshoot that ignition circuit. And like I said before, looking for primary voltage at the coil can be deceptive. It sounds like eliminating the possibility of the CDI unit being bad is where your at with your testing and hard work. I guess give it a try. If you have any contacts with a similar box see if you can coax them to borrow it for testing on yours before you buy one.

I had the same problem with my when I redid my R. The problem was that the boot that goes onto the sparkplug was broken in side of it. The wire that runs from the coil to the sparkplug. This boot has a resistor built into it.

good point oldman indy. There are anyone of a multitude of possibilities. I have been disappointed about half the time when I've suspected bad ignition units, even after coming to a point in my troubleshooting where I thought that must be it. It's tough when you can't test a component directly, like the CDI box, but can only eliminate all the other possibilites.
