Default Rincon brake/tail light problem

I would have never noticed if my bud riding behind me hadn't noticed it. My brake/tail light stays on all the time. As soon as I turn the key the tail lights come on, I have the head lights off. I've checked for loose wires and everyting seems to be in place, Anyone have any ideas this is driving me crazy!!! plz anyone

I had a Honda recon that did the same thing , dealer said the brakes were sticking lightly, check thoses first if that is not the problem check to see if you have a short anywhere, hope this helps you.

I backed out the rear brake lever adjusting nut, and still a no go, think it could be the front brakes. Was going to adjust those but getting late maybe try that in the morning. Tnx for the replies guys.

Pretty dumb dealer if you ask me,(I sure wouldn't let him work on my quad)... Honda Recons don't have "Brake Lights"!! Only a tail light.

I saw one rincon with the same deal, and the problem was the rubber boot for one of the front levers was caught in between the lever and one of the front brake light switches, depressing the small tab on it. Also it could be a faulty switch on any lever. Unplug them one by one and see which one makes the light go out. Or bring it to the dealer and let them deal with it as you are under warranty anyway.

Push the rear brake handle to see if it is pushing the switch back , you will here a click if the handle is not coming all the way back.

Thanks for the replies guys, the rubber boot isn't in the way and the brake light switch clicks when the brakes are applied. I unplugged the front brake switch and the lights stayed on, was gonna unplug the rear brake switch but looks like you'll have to remove some other stuff before you can get it unhooked. I'm hoping it's the switch on the rear brake lever. Guess it's back to the dealer, gah I just hate hauling it all the way back to the dealer. Thanks again guys for the input.
