1985 4trax starter problem
#1
First of all since I'm new to this forum Hi to heverybody.
I just bought an old 85 4trax 250. And I am trying to get that thing running since it came partially apart.
I just run in to a major problem, i hoked up a new battery and tried the starter button just to see if the starter turns over.
Well it did turn over and it kept turning over after I released the starter switch, after i pulled the mainfuse, it finaly stoped after i unscrewed the + terminal on the battery.
The terminal was very hot. So my big question, where do i start looking? what could cause this problem?
Any help apreciated.

All it really can be is the starter magnetic relay, or some would call it cellunoid. If you follow the positive battery cable it will lead you right to it. The other big cable terminal on the relay goes directly to the starter. The mechanical points inside must be corroded, welded together. Welcome to the forum.
