Do a search, there was a post about taking the axle out of the 300EX last week.

Just the spline, and it should slide right out.

Default 300ex rear bearing ?

I just put a Lonestar bearing carrier in my 250x, which has the same swingarm and bearing carrier as the 300ex, and all I did was took off the axle lock nut , the right rear wheel and hub, brake rotor, the rear brake caliper holder and axle slid right out. Then just take the bearing carrier out and change out your bearings and seals. Later, Good Luck
