Why no 6 gear?
#1
I've always wondered why ATV manufacturers don't make an ATV with six gears. Is it cause it would take too much room in the transmission, or is it because utility 4x4 should not go 75mph

Note that all the ATV's named with a sixth gear are sport quads. I'm talking mor on the line of utilities. People are always complaining that (for example) the Foreman 450 only goes 52mph. So, add a sixth gear and then they can make it to 65 or so, why doesn't Honda do it?

Ill tell you why.
Its because when your on the road cars are passing you @ 60mph, you atleast wana be able to go 50mph.
On the roads when your revving the crap out of fifth you wish for a sixth maybe a seventh.

i have also noticed that my 350 rancher sounds like it is looking for another gear when its in fifth wide open, i like speed a little to much, so i got a utility instead of a racer, and i hunt a lot so that was the other reason for the utility bike, but that 6th gear would be awesome in the utilitys
