I want to order a package deal on some sand tires and wheels. What size/type tire works well with the 400ex? Haulers/Edge/Sand Skate? 20x10x8/20x10x10?

I run a set of GBC Sand Sharks (Imitation Sand Skate II's) on my 400 and I think they work great. They are the 20's mounted on 8-inch rims. I would like to go to 10 inch rims (basically, because I think they look cool on 10 inch rims, would probably work the same). They have really good straight line bite for a set of V paddles. My buddy runs the 20x10x10 Skat Trak Edges (8 paddle). These tires work really well also. They seem to slide a little better than mine due to the flatter profile, but the two tires feel very similar.

On a similar note, if you plan to do a lot of riding in sand, get a set of Dune Trackers for the front...BIG Improvement!

I agree. The DuneTracker fronts worked great on my 400 this weekend at Little Sahara. They nearly completely eleminated the top-heavy feeling the 400 has in tight turns. Didn't have a problem with it trying to tip over or plow in high speed turns. These on Douglas 10 inch rims push the front end about an inch or two wider.

I run the Dunesliders in the rear and love them. My friend has the Skates. They bite a little better on take off, but I can pull mine faster on top end. Both slide just fine.

The 10 inch rims look great all the way around.

Hi ,I run treekers from kenda on my 400ex an they are a good tire too, cheep, like $63.00 per tire, v blade really hooks up an turns great.I got them on 9 in stock rims that was on my 250x they seem to get the job done.20 in. tires get the power you need to get up the tall dunes tooThey sure eat the gas though with my stock tires I get 75-80 miles to a tank ,but with the paddles 50 miles you will be sucking air,just a word to the wise,Rick{nv}

21 x 12 x 8 skattrak haulers. This is what rockymountainatv.com recommended. Just don't go with the dunehoppers.
