400ex jetting

i am still having problems with getting my plug golden brown. i have a dmc dual exhaust, k&n filter with outerwear and holes in the lid. i have a 170 main jet and i think stock pilot jet, the bike is running a little lean (tip of plug is grayish). since i moved up so may steps with the main jet i was thinking to go up a size or 2 with the pilot tell me if i am right in thinking this. or give me your opinions. thanks
