Depends, if the Rancher AT is only a new engine, I wouldn't worry as much. Not much you can do to a Honda engine and transmission, given its a manual shift transmission rather than a first year automatic. If the frame components are the same as the old ranchers, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Honda's generally pretty sound in the engine dept.

If the bike really has that many problems i would take it back get your money and if u want a utility then u should stick with honda and get a 450 Formen ES.......if u want a sport get a 400EX

you just got a bad quad, try to get the dealership to repair it all & if that doesn't work, dump it! you picked the wrong quad for runnin' big tires & mud anyway. honda's are great, don't get me wrong, but since their peak in the "atc" market, the company has let the competition not only pass, but get way ahead! any quad these days are built just as good if not better than honda. if your brand loyal to honda, your missing out on some really great quads!

If your looking at different atv's, look at the Bombardier. My wife just bought one. I tried and tried to tell her to get a Honda. Im glad she doesnt listen to me. Outlander 330. A little underpowered for me, but the suspension cant be beat and a three year warranty. Very sweet machine. If you decide on the polaris, seek counseling, you need help.

If your oil temp light comes on then you should probably clean your radiator out. I have heard that the tranny slippage doesn't happen if the bike is warmed up first, honda told me the other day that they have a different weight oil now so the tranny isn't as likely to slip expecially in the cold. I agree with Andy, go with the Cat 650, if it a manual or a hondamatic type of tranny I would be getting one when they come out for sure. If you want to get a rubberband then get the cat 12" of GC, diff lock, seven gallon gas tank, and PRAIRE POWER with IRS, theres not a lot more to ask for.
