Oh, wistech, sorry, i didnt read your post, im not trying to copy you or anything.

 

WISTECH has it down perfect. I have owned both quads and i can say the 300ex is the faster of the two. i'm not saying bone stock but as soon as you open up the airbox, put on a pipe and jet it correctly. It runs much stronger than the 250x, even if the 250 has the same mods. Now gear it up to a 14tooth front sprocket and remove the rev limiter (which caused me not to even bother with first gear) and you can definetly say it is faster than a 250x. and yes even if both bikes are geared the same, i ran this same setup on my old 250x. Since the 300 has a stroke of 65.5mm and the 250x only has a stroke of 57.3mm, the 300 just has more leverage on the crank resulting in more torque.

 

Sorry 250xRKrider, the 250X is not in the same leauge as the 400. My wife's uncle has one (it's got blue plastic-not sure what yr.) and it is not fast. Super reliable yes, but not fast.

 

my 300ex has mods and it keeps up with the 400ex's pretty well and i think that the 250 ex is really a 229cc

 

hey PADZZ i know what you mean, you mean stock, but mine is modded and it can run with a stock 400ex. sorry, i forgot to mention that part.

 

i have a 250x and it can keep up with a 300 untill u get to top speed and then it just barely goes ahead. i would rather have my quad because price wise it cost about half as much as a 300. i paid 1500 for my quad with everything listed below

 

Well, we too have had them both since the beginning and still have a newer 300ex. i miss that 250X!
Of all the bikes we've had through the years, this one has got to be close to being the king of effortless, fun riding. Jumping - aw man that thing would jump like a deer! We used to jump up these sand cliff things with them and it would nearly match the guys on the 250rs with height and distance. It was sweet but the only thing that jumps better is my R!
WISTECH nailed it for the tech specs. I can tell you from seat of the pants feel and riding/racing with them both, the 250x would walk away from the 300ex. ive said this before on these forums but a 300 could nearly take a warrior- but you really need to watch it when racing a 250x (vs a warrior) or you will see tailights from a 250x quick.

 

There not talking about a 250ex there talking about a 250x. There totally different quads.
