Go ahead and ditch one of the wrenches.
Put the wrench you have left on the lock-nut and using an extension bar if neccesary lift upwards(loose is tight and tight is loose on your axle nut)having someone on the quad holding the rear brake make life much easier
Now go out there and do as I say...just get it done...no whining no crying...just step up and loosen that bastard

Definitely has reverse threads. The thing is that it loosens inward toward the bearings and not out towards the right hub. You need to loosen the inner locknut by turning it to the right which is down towards the ground from the back of the quad. Don't look at it from the right hub side and think that turning it to the right is upward. You have to look at it from the middle of the axle looking out towards the hub.

I am not sure what you mean by spinning the entire spindle. I know that you did not strip the spline under the adjuster. If you are reffering to the adjusting nut and the lock nut turning togehter, sometime this does happen. You still need to break the two apart by holding the adjuster nut and applying force (try the chisel and hammer) lock nut. Good luck. You may have to talk to the thing a little while applying force. Use prases such as "Come on M&%^&# F%#^%#!" or "Break loose you Son of a B%&@#!" LOL

well i got it off finally but i never broke the nut loose, i just played with what little bit of the snap ring i could see, and with to flat head screw drivers i popped out the snap ring and i slid off the whole assembly. the only problem i have now is that the lock nut i just took off doesn't really fit on my new dura blue axel. i'm sure i just need to play with it
now the next order of buisness
where are the bearings? because i didn't find any thing in there except axel. also is the carrier the piece in the middle of the axel that slides on and off?
but seriously i did not see one thing that even resembles a bearing?? wtf??
