Default Honda - are you still listening to your customers?

Honda - are you listening to your potential customers? Yamaha has cut into your sport quad market share with their new YFZ450...however, Honda, you could nullify much of that by annoucing a limited 3 year manufacturing run on an updated (can you say modern) 250R! Offer the public a basic 250R model, a 250R XC version and an 250R MX version, several color choices, retain the original bodywork and non-essential components. and you could announce in the next few weeks during peak YFZ450 delivery periods and stunt the YFZ sales! Talk about a war! How many ATV customers would die for a fresh 250R from Honda, which they (Honda) could build until the CARB regulations shuts them down in 2006/07. Thousands could be sold, and Honda could probably wrangle admittance into the AATVA and GNCC Pro Production classes that are so hot now. It would bring back some shine to an ATV image that continues to get hammered by several other msport ATV models. And by the way Honda, we still expect a CRF450 sport quad real soon! Does anyone share these thoughts? I would think so!

(I also posted this in the Yamaha forum)

I don't think Honda would ever bring back the 250R. But Honda could produce them down in Mexico like VW does with the old Bug. Just a thought.

Now that would put a wrench into the yamaha yzf sells. A new 250r. I can dream cant I. Still hoping Honda will answer the need for a new quad. If they make a big bore I will be dropping some money on it.

It remains to be seen just how competitive the Yamaha is. They don't exactly have a glowing reputation when it comes to quads.

Whudda ya mean STLL listening????? Have they ever?

I'm still waiting for something to compete with the LT500 from Honda!
I was peeing my pants back in '87 and '88 waiting for a TRX500R.... Guess what!? Still waiting!
And now the pee has dried and even the chafing has healed..

I wouldn't wait on Honda to build ANYTHING.... You're hopes and dreams of a 450 are so close, but yet, so far away! Hope they prove me wrong, but even if they do.... it's still a thumper!

Then when Honda made the statement that no more 2-strokes will be produced.... That was the end for me and Honda! (Remember when they were developing a V-twin 2-stroke to compete with ??? (mebbe the banshee)) Environmentally friendly even!!!!
Hmm, imagine that!
They won't be spending my hard earned $$$$

(Can ya tell I'm a little miffed at the flying wing?)

dont take offence but there is so many posts just like this. no matter how much people go on about them bringing out a new sport quad, it just isnt going to happen. yamaha can afford to spend time on their quads and motorbikes since they are not developing robots and things like that. to be honest, i dont think they give a monkeys about quads because they earn plenty more money else where.
why not just buy the new yamaha?

All honda listens to it trial lawyers and the imperial federal government.

they have never and will never listen to their customers. We have been belly aching for years that we want more power, locking differential, selectable 4x4, better brakes, etc etc etc etc............ Have they even came close to answering?????? Cept for the trax lok on foreman, a big fat NOPE!!!!!

Kawi is taking the ute market, and everyone else is taking the sport market.

I've been thinking about getting a Foreman 450 but now I'm leaning more towards the Kodiak 450.
The Kodiak has liquid cooling, better rack and towing rates, more suspension travel, diff. lock, disc brakes, larger fuel cap., etc... People ask for disc brakes and Honda gives them GPS. Then most of the time they charge alot more for their quads.
