Default Replaced chain and sprocket....problems

Well, I thought going form a 44T to a 42T I should remove 1 link and it looked that way, until wife came back and they had to remove 2, well 2 is to many. So , I assume 2 masters and a link will fix it? Which is 3 links! I think there is enough adjustment =( any tips or anything anyone could pitch in would be great

Default Replaced chain and sprocket....problems

I now I am replying to my own posts. =) How do I know if the chain has to much play after the two master links? It has a slight droop after it leave the top of the rear sprocket. Whats the rule of thumb?

You will want about 1.5-3 inches of room for the chain to move up and down between the rear and front sprocket where it sags the lowest. Any tighter can result in sprocket damage. Ive heard your not supposed to use more than 2 master links in a chain, im not sure why, but alot of people have told me not to. Id ask a shop about it. Good luck.
