Electric Shifts

The electric shift works really good.
The guy that says they don't work when they get wet is wrong. Up in the NorthWest everything is wet
We have been mudding, stream/river crossings, never, not once has there been any problems with the Rancher. Also ride with 2 450ES never have they had a problem.
It not an automatic but then I don't have to worry about a belt braking.

Well, I can tell you that Honda are very reliable machines. However, I have started seeing some post concerning their reliabilty. 75% of these complaints have been about the electric shift. Ususally about the bike not shifting into or out of a certain gear. It just goes to show you that once you start to add bells and whistles to a machine, you will start to have problems. I personally like the old, basic designed Hondas better.

400 miles on my Rancher ES and the shifting is problem free so far. I really had some doubts about it at first but Honda does have a very good reputation. As far as water goes the two guy's I ride with have had more water problems with their belts on the Polaris Sportsman than I have with my electric shifter. The problem they have is water causing the belt to slip, after it dries out they are fine.
