he wont kill him self on a 400ex. a warrior is about 4 mph slower than the 400 which doesnt matter a lot and where u are riding u might need the reverse.Slap a pipe on the warrior and ull be able to keep up and in some cases beat a 400 . just my 2 cents

 

I know jackalwarrior won't like to hear me say this, but I grew tired of my Warrior's power (or lack thereof) in about four months and wanted something more powerful. My riding buddy has a 300EX and it is true that it is more agile and tossable, but it has absolutely no power whatsoever.

I would not recommend either. I would get a 400EX to start out with, then work up to a big bore.

 

i say out of those choices you should get the warrior, 300 ex's are pretty slow for the size and setup.

 

i had a warrior. good overall bike. but after riding a 300ex, the choice becomes clearer: 300EX.
the warrior handles like a dog compared to a 300. a warrior will tire you out quicker because of the way it handles. Both machines are tame, though, and you may get bored with them equally. Since that may be the case- get the 300 and modify it; you will come to the same conclusion on mods if you got a warrior. as long as you are not like WAY over 6 ft, i dont think you will have a problem on the 300ex.... or look at a 400ex or kfx/z400.

 

I hate to say it Homedawg and xredxriderx350x but for a 287cc quad that can hang with a 349cc warrior is not at all underpowered at all thats 72ccs difference which is a big difference, if you bored a 300ex up to a 350 it would go much faster than a warrior.

JackleWarrior, im 15 and own a Banshee 370 and ive never flipped it or wrecked it and i haul **** so that one kid should be alright on a 400ex [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] .

 

Yeah, well I remember how I was when I was 15 and I wouldnt have trusted myself with something that wheelies so easy.
HomeDawg, I got bored with my warriors power pretty quick too, but I payed so little for it I just started modding it. 30hp comes pretty cheap and that puts me in the same range as Zs and such. Its plenty to have fun on in the woods. I still dont know why everyone complains about the handling and such. I also get to ride a 440ex and its handling dosent seem any better to me, heck it wears you out faster from the constant jarring. I can ride my warrior for hours but the 400ex wears your arms out and makes your hands go numb where we ride.

 

I hear a lot of people who say that a 300EX can "hang" with a Warrior. Maybe they can, but all I have to judge by is my 98 Warrior and my riding buddy's 96 300EX. They are both old machines, but mine has had a top end redo recently. With these two machines, it is not even a contest in terms of power, acceleration and top speed. In a 300 foot drag, I can whip the 300EX by 3 or 4 quad lengths easy. At 600 feet it is more like 8 or 10. And I weigh 265 pounds and my riding buddy weighs about 160.

I do realize that each bike is unique and maybe his is slow or mine is particularly fast.

I will say that I do think that the Warrior handling is cumbersome in some situations such as track riding, but who buys a Warrior to ride at the track. For trails, the handling isn't so bad because the front wheels stay on the ground which makes it easier to ride fast.

I stand by my recommendation though to get a more powerful machine. I also think that a water cooled bike is well worth the money.

 

throw 20 inch tires on a 300 and it will be even wtih a piped warrior until top end, no joke.

 

maybe if the warrior has stock tires...
