200cc and just as fast?!? yea.
And BTW, Kawasaki has the ZX-12R as their flagship sport bike.

Billsner, The 954 is not Hondas biggest crotch rocket. Ever heard of the Blackbird. 1100xx. That is there biggest bike. NOt the 954. Yes Tyre, Bigger is not always better.
Just adding some more clarity.

I know bigger isn't better, the size really wasn't my point. My point is Honda isn't making the fastest one. Ask Daren420 how his CBR929 did against his neighbors GSX1000. There was no comparison. Honda doesn't have the guts to build a big bore atv. If they do, it still won't compete with the yfz, raptor, ds, etc. because it will be just good enough to put a honda bike in that class.
Gumby, I am not a honda hater. I have owned several hondas and my 250x (one of my favorite bikes I have owned) will be leaving my possesion tommorrow. I still have an atc250r that is being built for drag. Read your statement:
any of you honda haters should bring your bike here to new brunswick canada and tell me about reliability, nothing lasts as long as a honda around here
As I said, the main thing people say about honda has to do with reliability. I have said that the 250x is the most reliable bike I have ever owned. No where near the fastest. Honda knows they can sell bikes on this instead of being the fastest, most earth shattering. This is why they won't take the chance to build a competetive bike.

They will build it. They are not stupid. They know what's out there and why their bikes sell. If they dont release it soon then, yes, they will gradually slip further away in the competitive sports market. But they don't care b/c they know they can regain it nearly at will.... Just look at the 400ex. Everyone thought they were dead to the sports world, but they were developing this thing behind the scenes starting 1994-1995 and released it years later. They were testing it for like 4yrs before they released it, and when they did release it, nobody expected it. When the 400ex came out - you could not find a one- and if you did, you paid through the **** for it! I was going to get one and the dealer said the STICKER price was final, NO negotiation b/c he sold everyone he got before he got it or within a couple days of getting it. HONDA know's the 400ex is not their best effort, and they have something up their sleeve, but they will release it when they think they should, not us. I dont agree, but I garrantee that when it does come out, everyone will want one. And if it doesnt come out, fine. look around - there are plenty of good quads.

The 929 isn't in the same class as the GSX1000R, but the 954 does hold its own with the R1 and the Suzuki. RC51 wins most Super Bike races with Edwards and Nicky what's-his-face. The CBR600RR is as good, if not better than the R6...wins the races too. The CR250 again is the #1 winning MX bike out there. You want big bore? How 'bout the VTX1800?
So, the sport ATV market isn't their main priority, well that's their choice, because it's obvious (see above) that they could dominate if they choose to. And yes, it is a shame that they don't.

what PADZZ said. BTW it's Nicky Hayden and he's racing moto gp this year instead of super bike. Bostrom came from Ducati to Honda to take Hayden's place. God I miss speed channel crotch rocket races freakin' rip!

Thank Dirt...it was late and I couldn't think of Hayden, just Joe Rocket 69. I haven't had SpeedVision for awhile, so I wasn't aware Hayden left super bike. Is he riding the new V-5 of Honda's? Drop that in a quad chassis..WOW!!
