If you drive it in the mud the coonector for the angle sensor may be dirty. I would suggest cleaning them. If that doesnt work the sensor is shot. Im lookin for the parts# and price right now

If it sounds like it is missing in rev it means that it is in "limp mode" and detects a problem

I have never had a tranny related problem in 3,700+miles and over 450 hours. I use D2 and have oversized tires so I would think it's a sensor related problem. The main reason people have had any D2 problems is because you are misled to believe that D2 is a torque mode when in all reality it's an overdrive mode. My bike is in the shop with a broken back driveline or back diff, I also have busted a front dif and limited slip chutches in the past, without any tranny trouble so I would think it's mechanically sound, and you almost certainly have an elecrtical (sensor) problem.

Ah, simplicity!! I have a foot shift Rancher, and I have never had any of these problems with my foot!!

Something I was wondering: Are the D1/D2 selections actually a reduction gear/transfer case OR is this just some electronic thing that holds the bike in a lower or higher range????

D1 and D2 are entirely electrical. Low range is a lower gear.

D1 sounds and feels like a cvt tranny in high range cause it stays revved kind of high to keep you in the HP. D2, also high range shifts out to a higher gear at lower speeds and kind of lugs along but if you hit it full throttle in either drive mode niether one is quicker on acceleration (have raced) but D2 hits the rev limiter at a bit higher speed just like ESP mode whide D1 doesn't have the last 2-3 mph. like TEXMud said low is definatly LOW.

250to500

Is the speed sensor the same thing as the angle sensor?
And where is it located?
