I have a question for everyone, I have an 85 250R, I read alot about "Desert Tanks". Do these hold more fuel?
If so were can I find one, I ride my R daily she gobbles juice like nobodies business. It would be nice to have the extra fuel
for the ride time.

 

Yep, they hold more fuel. But I've never had one, so that's all I can tell you.

I bought a CLARK for my X and it works great. Better than my stock metal one...no dents!

I have one. It holds 5 or 6 gallons... The bike can go for about 5 hours straight on it. I took the tank off as it has a slight orange color, but it has no holes or anything. I would let it go cheap - pm me. If I want another one, I'll buy one. But I don't live anywhere near the desert anymore - so no more 5 hour trips. I think the farthest I can go around here without turning around is an hour tops.. Damn enviornmentalists do it every time!

Let me know about the tank.. It is in good condition (hell - Its a gas tank!).

 

You Betcha I would take it off your hands, I'm always looking for a good deal! Is it plastic or steel? I'll keep an eye out for you I tried PM but you were not on line.

 

It's plastic... Its similar to the stock one, just bulkier to hold more fuel. I'll get back to you - have an emergency to attend to.
