Is it true that the 440 is slower then the 416. Thats what alot of people told me.

A good 416 is better than a hack 440. A good 440 is better than a hack 416. A high compression 416 is faster than a low compression 440. A well thought out 440 is better than a well thought out 416; It has more torque, is easier to ride fast and is more forgiving. This is just a brief answer to your question, there are so many variables that can make one engine better than the other.

Check with LRD or Powroll for their version of a 465 stroker engine. They are awesome in the dunes. My full tilt 440 ran side by side up test hill [Gordon's Well dunes] with Greg Row's Baja winning DS650. You can make those little 400's sing if you want to.
