400ex pros cons
Oh that was my only real con with the ex is it not having reverse. The pros are reliablity, pretty fast, good track bike, looks pretty good, it's got plenty of aftermarket goodies, it has the best balance point for wheelies I've ever seen, it's a great hillclimber with the good torque in the low gears, and it's a Honda. 400ex's pros outweigh their cons by more than most any other sport quad.

they dont have to eat much sand from my roost.
Back to the topic IMO the EX's are flawless , to many pro's to list and who needs reverse anyway.......

400ex pros cons
I have both a Z and EX sitting in my garage. Both have virtually identical mods. Both bikes have great handling, ergonomics, etc. But FOLKS, THE Z IS WAY FASTER!! Progress marches on!! Honda didn't upgrade the engine in the EX frame, so Suzuki stepped in and did what they neglected to do!!
If you want yesterday's old-style air cooled engine, get the EX. If you want a modern DOHC water-cooled screamer, get the Z.
