Ya i need some advice on doing stoppies too, it seems like when i lock up the front brakes it either slides or just stops the four wheeler. A stoppie is when you hit your front brakes and lean forward to balance on the front wheels.

Stoppies are much more common (and not terribly safe) on street/race bikes like a Gixxer. Used to do them all the time back when I raced.

i can throw my weight up to the front of the 300ex and hit the front brakes and do it, but on the banshee i have to sit on the handlebars and nail the brakes.

Here's how it's done.....To start out, first gear is fine. Accelerate to the top so first, then pull in your clutch and put on your brakes nice and smooth, but firm. The next part is a little hard to explain because it has a lot to do with feeling, but as you are coming to a stop do a "double pump" with the brakes. The first pump will transfer all the weight forward, and then on the second pump throw your weight forward (you can squeeze your legs against the seat for more leverage). You probably won't get it right away, but you will with a little bit of practice. Some surfaces make stoppies really hard like grass or loose dirt. In fact, I have a very hard time doing a stoppie on the lawn. They are easy to do on pavement or hard pack....also in a field isn't bad either.

There a few video clips on our site www.cvboyz.com that you can download and maybe get a better idea of technique. The first vid listed on the page is something that we put together quite a while ago, and there are two labeled "Spring Fever" clips. Those were done like last month from a little bit of footage that I had.

Take it easy man.
