I have two buddies with Wolverines.. They are a good, nimble bike with decent suspension and they are pretty quick. The drawbacks are a tall first gear (not the best for pulling) and the snorkel is quite low. At 479 pounds, they are pretty good trail riders for a full time 4 wheeler...

i agree any quad is better then no quad......i finally found the 1 i like and plan on keeping it a long time while some 1 else may not like it...i wouldn't hesitate to pull them out of the mud just cause they not rid'n a honda!:-)

Scramblers are slow.. they look kind of like a sport but are reallly not. Id go with a honda rancher or yamaha wolverine.

 

ok, lost ten minutes reading all the useless crap to understand the question (easy) and the answers (the two or three constructive ones).

the scrambler is a good bike, i have ridden with a few and they seem to like them, for the most part. what i have seen is that on certain rough terrain, they had problems with the belt smoking. they also had trouble get up long steep hills. both scramblers i rode with had this problem, both the guys have since sold them. think the scrambler MSRP is about $6k.

one thing you may consider would be the new Honda Rancher AT. its a 400, 4x4 on the fly, and has the Rubicon auto tranny which should also give you a low gear. which as i understand it just kicks @ss. MSRP is $6k.

before i get flamed, i will point out that i am not bashing on the polaris, only stating facts which i have witnessed and have provided a constructive alternative to NYC's post.
