I'm 32 and have been riding for 25 years now (had a 1983 185S and an ATV 200X back in the day). If you get used to the handling of a 3 wheeler they're fine. I never had any problems with mine. I still see some out at the riding spots that I frequent in Pennsylvania.

read through the ATC 3 wheeler forum on this site and you'll see some good points from different sides of the spectrum. 14 years on a 3 wheeler and the handling still impresses me today. Keep in mind if you want to get into racing you need to stay in the quad world. 3 wheelers no longer being in production and even looked down on upon certain sheltered individuals has pushed them out of organized racing almost all together.

size, age, experience, and budget - these are the things we need to know to better answer your question.

i was always told 3 wheelers were made for the snow.

200x seems to be your best bet. they are one of the best handling, reliable, 4stroke 3 wheelers around. they will do about 45mph in stock form and should keep you entertained for a good while until you'll need to move up. around 16 or 17 you might want to step up to a 350x.
