Default installed hotcam stage 2 in 400ex

First real test run on my friends ex after cam install. Noticed a huge diference on top end pull. Before the power was right at low end to mid range and it stoped, now it seems to kick in at mid range and wants to keep pulling.

good mod.

Does anyone know what the stock rev limiter is set at?

I am pretty sure it's 9300 RPM.

Did he have a high compression piston in it and how much bottom did he loose?

Is the HRC cam similar to hotcams stage 2? If so I think I will go for the HRC. What other engine mods did your friend do?

Other mods are fmf power bomb pipe and silencer, K&N filter with no lid. Thats it.

It did loose some low to mid range power, it seemed to move and add power to a higher rpm range.
High comp piston might help it out, but he said it is fine the way it is.

might be kind of bad for trail riding, lost some snap when luging engine. 13t sprocket could help in trails.

a 13 tooth sprocket? going down two sizes from stock is a pretty big difference when dealing with the front sprocket. has he ran against any other bikes? raptors, kfx's, z's etc?

sory, I was thinking stock was 14t. Now I remember it is a 15t. So a 14t might help in trails. You might not need to dhange it at all, depends on riding style.

It was dead at the dunes when we rode, no one wanted to drag.
I raced him with my Z (runs very good).
He is not a very good rider and could not get a good holeshot. If we had a rolling start I would slowly pull away from him the whole race.
We traded and I ran right next to him until 5th gear and the Z started to pull away.

Before the cam install I would walk right away from him.
