The early big guns did extend well beyond the grab bar. Mike shortened them 2 inches on later production models. They also route a bit different. They are much better now than the one that everyone compares theirs to.

Here's the best fellas. Curtis Sparks. He even has a spark arrestor now. It's short, [the only thing smaller is the Supertrapp 4" race] ceramic chrome plated, and headpipe/silencer combo runs under $400. [I'll have some pictures next week.] But most importantly the thing absolutely rips! The sound is incredible, yeah it's louder than most, but it's loud like a Vette at full throttle not like an old pick-up with a rusted out muffler. There were alot of Sparks pipes at Red Bud last weekend. Next to Supertrapp and maybe White Bros I'd say they had the most. I could count the Big Guns on one hand. Duncan had a couple of bikes there that were tearin' it up but that pipe looks god awful. It also looks like it weighs a ton. I also have a Pro-circuit T4 [for the dunes, spark arrestor required] and it weighs more, sounds worse and is down on power. On top of that, it costs $50 more. Here's the best thing of all. I have had my pipe for over a year and the head-pipe had turned blue. I called to see what product they reccomended to use for cleaning. They said send it in and we'll apply the new ceramic chrome coating. 3 weeks later it shows up on my door [I live in Illinois 5 shipping days from California] all they charged me was $6!!!!!! and that was for upgrade to 2nd day air. when I opened up the box I noticed that they even repacked my silencer!!!! Come on!! you think Pro-Circuit is gonna do that? I'm blown away. Do yourself a favor, at least check it out. If you do, you'll buy it.
