I have a new Honda 250 ex, I have only had it a few weeks. I noticed that every once in a while, not all the time, I will hear a ticking sound from the right side of the engine or driveshaft...I was told this is normal? Is it? It is not spark knock and it only happens every so often...
I have a six month warrenty and if this is not, I need to have it looked at. Just my luck, I probably have the only 250 ex lemon ever made....

Well if it is when you are driving and get in to high of a gear my recon will start to clunk but all you have to do is downshift. Also when I first start my recon the engine sometimes makes a loud ticking soud but only last for a few seconds but goes away. I haven't had any problems with mine yet.

Yeah...I know what you are talking about but this is different...it not a clunking sound, it's a tick...tick..tick...it does it about 4 times and goes away....I called the dealership and they told me it was normal drive train noise but I would feel better if I knew it happened to other guys as well.

Sounds to me like the push rods. I think the sound you are referring to is normal. Take it by the dealer and let them listen they will know pretty quick. Recons make this sound too.

Well, I am going to try and not worry about it, I was told by several people including two dealerships that this was a normal sound for this machine. I am a worrywart about my stuff, especcially this new quad....I treat it like a baby...
