and the motor wouldnt run if it didnt compress. b/c when the piston comes up it compresses the mix and then the spark pulg sets a spark and it expoldes and sends the piston back down. and the same thing happens again and agian ect.

no, it didnt lock up, it just wouldnt shift gears. Wouldnt go into second at all. Then it went into second and wouldnt come back out. now it will not shift at all and is stuck in second gear. They guy I got it from took care of it really well. He actually apologized to me cause he only had the chance to wax the frame 3 times. This bike was immaculate. I believe he took care of it. I did e-mail him to ask him if there were any tranny problems before he got off it.
Drain the water / oil out and reinstall some new oil and let it sit a several hours. The engine still runs....so ride around in the stuck gear a while.....it should "unstick". This is what I would do.

Good Idea.. I will do that. (Take the oil out and replace it then ride it around)

I will keep you posted on what the outcome is

The new oil will thin in a hurry from the water residue still insode the engine....so keep an eye on it and change it as necessary until (hopefully) things free up.

Trailblazerguy, I don't think you are a stupid kid and I don't mean to step on your toes, but gasoline does not compress. The air/gas mixture that flows into the cylinder compresses. This is because the small amount of gas that is mixed with the air will atomize- this word is particularly important because gas vapor will not burn, if it did, then the stuff that we smell would be ignitable and it is not. The gas in the cylinder is like someone spitting when they talk- it is still liquid spit but it is now atomized. The air around the atomized gasoline is what is actually being compressed along with any fuel that has vaporized. The actual explosion is the mixture of the compressed air and atomized gasoline particles. As for oil, no liquid is compressable, period. It can be under pressure-such as hydrolics- but cannot be compressed. There have been studies with two strokes envolving the idea that you can make your engine produce more power by running a richer mixture of oil to gas. The extra oil in the combustion chamber takes up space that would otherwise be taken up by the gas/air mixture. This produces the effect of a smaller cc combustion chamber thus raising the compression ratio. The negative side of this is lower RPM's. This is good if you race in the woods, but bad for nearly all other situations. Thank you for your time. Class dissmissed.

Does your shifter move like it should? I broke the shift-shaft on my Banshee and it wouldn't shift. The shift lever moved up and down alot. That wouldn't be as cheap as an oil change but way cheaper than splitting cases.
GOOD-LUCK

Het dude i know what happened. this happened with my 85 200x atc. ok when you shift alot the bushings get smashed, and it makes it slip when shifting gears.. mine doesnt go into 1st or neutral.. it goes into nuetral after like 10 minutes of working with it! well check the bushings.. when you hit the water it must of ran into the bushings and had them move aside.. or get smashed really bad.
