Are the gears closer on the 88-89 than on the 86-87?

 

im pritty sure the 86-87 had closer gears

 

In the trannies, or the final drives? That a trick question imo.

there is a wider spread in the 88-89 trannies

 

I was always told the 86 is junk compared to the other 3. If that is wrong I mite need to consider the one down the street for $4600. I have always seen the 86 for less money so I thought the stories were true. The one here for sale is puss. 2 cylinders, 10 tires 4 front shocks, powder coated or polished everything. Says 4 stroke is where its at. I dont believe that!

 

the 86 is the best for drag racing, and the 88-89 is the best MX tranny
