Default 300EX Question

I was wondering why when I'm about in 4th and 5th gear and I release the throttle to let it decompress, why it's doing loud noise like explosion. I'M perfectly jetted (brown plug)

Default 300EX Question

If you get popping or backfiring on deceleration (letting off the throttle) and you are running an aftermarket pipe, you may need to richen up the slow speed circuit, the small screw on the bottom front of the carb, just ahead of the idle speed adjust. try turning it out 1/4 turn at a time until the popping goes away, if you go more than 3 1/2 or 4 turns, you will need a bigger pilot jet. I just put a Supertrapp IDS pipe on my son's 300 ex,with 8 discs in, went up to a 40 pilot (stock is 38) and up one size on the main jet, from 120 to 125. Seems to run fine, I need to do a plug check to make sure, I'll let you know if I need to make any changes other than what I have. Honda tends to jet lean for emissions, adding a pipe and filter, or playing with the air box holes, will really aggravate that, before I started, I checked the plug, and it seemed a littel white on the porcelain.

Default 300EX Question

Thanks 95Wolv. Another useful comment of yours . But Those 300 Carb are kinda sh!*ty. I know where is the idle screw adjustement, the screw to empty the carb (don't remember the name in english). But where is that slow circuit screw (is it the same as air screw)?
