Default Spark problem with TRX250.

Can anyone help a desperate man. I have recently got myself a 1989 TRX250 At high revs it starts top misfire so I decided to investigate. I removed the flywheel cover and everything was in a bit of a mess, I think it had been on the beach as everything was badly corroded. I cleaned everything up and checked the wiring harness for any other problems. When I got to the spark box, I noticed that the original block connector had obviously broke at some point and had been replaced withy individual spade type connectors which were in poor shape. I replaced the connectors and made note of where they had been fitted. I thought I'd done a good job to 'bulletproof' my electrics, but now I have no spark. I've checked it again and again and its just how it was before I started messin'. Is there anybody out there who can supply a wiring diagram and resistance values etc for the coil, spark box, stator etc. Any help wopuld be appreciated. Regards, Smiffy UK.

Since you cleaned up around the flywheel and you said it would misfire at high RPM's one likely cause is the ignition pick up. Check to make sure the 2 wires coming out of the pickup are not broken. I have had problems and found that one of the pick up wires was barely connected. If both wires are in good condition then remove the pick up and sand the little round piece of metal embbeded in the plastic.
