Default 03' Rincon - Winch Recommendation

Just purchased a new 03' Rincon. Most of my riding is in the High Sierra's, with great 4x4 trials. I would like to install a compact winch under the front. Looking for recommendations, and advice on bracket kits. Has anyone installed a wireless winch?

Thanks ...

Default 03' Rincon - Winch Recommendation

I have a 2,500 lb warn on the front of my rubicon. Used a warn mounting bracket. Love the winch and it's location, consealed and protected. I have not seen the front of a rincon, so I really do not know what the mounting location looks like, but I would never own another atv without a winch. I have never stalled mine out, pulled out 2" and 3" DIA trees in muddy ground pulling myself out. Good luck

I got the Warn Multi Mount kit with the 2.5c winch for my 04 rincon. You can move the winch from the front to the back in about 30 seconds. I leave it in back most of the time. I'd move it to the front for plowing or if I needed to pull out that way.

With it this way, in front all you see is a 1" receiver flush with the front of the quad.. hardley even notice it. Most who look at it ask me why I installed the winch in the back.. then I show them how it works at they start thinking "now THAT'S a good idea!"

Heh bystone, do you have any pictures. I would love to see what is involved and how difficult it was to install. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, no pictures. But, it is really simple. A mount in the front, a mount in the rear, each with a 1" receiver hitch. Run the wires to the front and back, mount the winch on it's plate with a receiver on it, and you're done.

It would take about 4 hours to do I suppose.. I took longer because of how I mounted the countrol unit...

I installed the Warn 2500 and Rincon mount kit from Shercosales.com

Took some time to install but I took my time to do it right. I mounted the cellanoid (spelling?) in the little front compartment and ran the wires back to the battery. Nice install and works great. nearly invisible. I will take some pics for you tomorrow and upload them.

I installed a Ramsey 2500 with the wireless remote and manual switch. Make sure you purchase the correct mounting bracket too. The bracket mounted great, like it was custom made for the quad. The electrical installed as promised. The only thing is I had to add some wire to the hot lead for the manual switch. The remote works slick. I am looking forward to trying the winch out on the Rubincon this weekend.
