What oil for a 1998 Honda Foreman 450?

Go to your Honda dealer and put Honda oil in it. Ask them and they will tell you.
I put nothing but honda parts and fluids in mine. They may tell you, you can use a different brand name......

10w40 will work. Just make sure on the back of the bottle that it does not say energy conserving in the little circle which means no friction modifiers.
You can pick up a case of Walmart 10w40 for ten bucks which has the correct information on the back of the bottle. Walmart oil is produced by Quaker State.
I mix my own oils for applications but the main thing is to change your oil and change it often.
