Anything can break if the right amount of force is applied. Are works an improvement over stock? Yes. Can you break them? Yes. Any shock can be broken but it isn't a common occurence. You had it happen chances are it will not happen again anytime soon.

well if you break works shocks they can rebuild and fix them.
they will be an improvment over stock big time.
but i dont think you will need the cans for what your doing so get them with no cans.

Default works shocks for me?

what about these? used works shocks and how hard would it be to adjust it to my weight, because i wiegh 30 lbs less then the weight set up for the shocks. good idea? and even though i don't really need the rezzies it is still cheaper than new works w/o rezzies. please tell me what you think. thanks. ps if you find something better for me please let me know. i have a broken shock and i miss riding already. thanks again, matt

You could use them as they are set up. But it would be better if you had them re-valved by someone who knows shocks.

any shock that's used for competition (don't know if those were) should be checked fairly regularily anyway. With what you will save on the shocks - take the bike to a dealer and have them set up for you - also you will know what you have before you find out the hard way! Might cost you a hundred bucks extra plus the trip - well worth it.
