Default Did Honda cheat?

It wasn't even a stock Rincon, no front diff for one thing. I bet they boosted the power output too. Sure the IRS gave it a nice ride but you can't really say a Rincon one the race, atleat not a rincon you can buy from the show room floor. You need to mod it alot. I'll take a stock P650/P700/V700 over a Rincon in the Baja 500/1000.

Top speed loses importance to sustainable speed.

To finish first, first you have to finish.

YES the sport quad has superiority. They always have until last years Baja 1000.

The point I was trying to make is that is not just maximum speed that is important, it is sustainable speed. That takes a combination of horse power, suspension, reliability, drivers, support, prerunning the course, etc. Looking at top speed, without due consideration of the other factors won't show who the real contenders are.

BSA, I understand what you are saying but if you read the CT article you will see that the Honda Rincon team cut the course and had to argue for the win. Plain cheating if you ask me.

It probably wasn't so much arguing as it was money passing hands. And, WTF, a Honda would have been on the podium anyway (ATVScene.com 440EX). But I guess if you're not part of Team Honda, you ain't important. Like when the CT guy stopped at the Honda pit and asked for some light bulbs and they made him wait for several minutes before coming out and saying they didn't have any. Uh huh. Seems to me a pit as organized as Team Honda would know if they had the bulbs or not.
