my 300ex ticks when it is shut off

today I was riding down to my pond when I got they I shut my 300ex and sat there for a while to see if I saw any fish swiming on top of the water anyway I started hearing a ticking sound it was shut off and it sounded like it coming from the top end I can't figure it out.it only has a larger main jet and removed airbox lid and sometime razr's and itp .190 rear wheels of my 250r.

The noise you hear is from the aluminum contracting. Im not a rocket scientist, but the only reason I think a noise is made is from metal to metal contact, like on the bolts on your head, or somewhere on the topend.

Engines normally tick when they are stopped if they get warm enough. I think it's the metal cooling off.

I noticed that this happened my Xr after some mods I made. After Listening for a long time and after a few restarts I found out it was coming from the new header pipe i had just bought. My Honda Recon Does it too (along with any car i've ever riden in).
