Default Rim job..

I was thinking about sandblasting my rims on the 350 fourtrax, the previous owner painted them black. What are the rims made of, will i have to re-paint them or can i leave them natural??

The rims are steel and you will have to repaint them. They should sand blast easy...I like to use glass bead when I do my rims but sand does a decent job too. The metal will have a grey (flat aluminum) look if you have never seen it before. It will rust very quickly with out some paint. Some Tremclad or wheel paint would do a great job covering up the fresh steel.

I figured that would grab your attention....but seriously I wonder if i sprayed a clear coat over the bare metal. I like that flat aluminum look.

ya you could clean them up good with a sand blaster or what ever and then make sure the dust is all out of them and then you could get them powder coated. powder coating makes a real nice job and will not come off the rims.
