TRAIL TECH X BAR MOD -MUST SEE-
#1
Hey all....
I think this looks so much better than what trail tech gives you. I modified the oem handle bar cover on the yfz to accommodate
the trail tech handle bar mount.. go here (link below) to check the pics and tell me how it looks. I just didn’t like the cover they give you it didn’t cover up enough of the wire routing space into the bike and it took away from its overall eye appeal..
Just match up the bottom of the new mounts to the top of the oem cover and center it up pretty good, then use a felt tip pen
to trace the general area to cut out.. I used a regular razor blade (the plastic is nice and soft) BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT
YOUR FINGER if you slip with the razor blade.. once you cut out the holes in the oem cover fine tune them with a rat tail
file till they fit, it takes a bit of patience so just take your time and they will come out nice.. also cut the tips of the oem handle bar mount bracket underneath for mounting clereance. Some of you may be able to cut
them out better with a cutting tool and really do a nice custom job.. Hell; some of you may have already done this?
but anyway here you go... take it easy.. tell me what ya think
the pics are about 350-450k each so dial uppers may have to wait a bit.. I made em big so you can get a good look..

I just put Trail X bars and clamps on all three of our bikes and I love the look. I agree that the covers leave a little to be desired but its not that bad.
I would love to see the pics but your link is not working.
Let me know

Thanks for the pics, that does look clean. I have an 05 yfz and two 05 Raptor 350's. The cover for the yfz is kinda cool but the Raptor cover is flat out ugly. I think I will try to get mine back on there but leave the Raptors alone.
