Rincon Slide Spring Mod
#1
Well, finally clipped the big mongo slide spring on my Rincon. I cut about 6-7 loops off.
The difference was night and day... holy smokes. I'm gonna take it out to see if I gained any top end from this. Not only does this allow the slide to open quicker, but it should allow it to open further for more top end. We'll see!

Ok, so Im going to take the jets out to take them to the shop (never dealt with this kind before). No one in town had them, and the honda shop said "it's not in the parts manual, so I can't get it..". Oh well.
Anyhow, when turning the carb to change the jets, don't forget to unhook the idle **** from the frame!!! (little plastic clip holding it down). I broke the threaded part off. Only $9 for the part, so no big deal. And, I was able to rig a temp one (using a screw and the spring from it). It actually works really well...
Anyhow, It's warmed up about 30 degrees (was about 60 this morning on my first run, and now it's like 90). So I also get on the tar... go up against the wind, 59 top is the best I can do. On the way back with the wind, I reached 64.
The run this morning was against the wind on gravel, so go figure.
Still want to jet at least the pilot up. If the jet kit came with a richer pilot that may be my only choice, but I hate paying $50 for $10 worth of jets.
Oh well, at least the spring clip woke her up a little! No real wheelies yet, but with that restrictive stock pipe, what does one expect.
