04 Honda Rancher AT purchase prices and thoughts?

I have been riding an OLD 300 Suzuki Utility Quad (I am not sure of the model but its the utility not that little thing)
Its 2 wd and I love how you can sometimes pop the front wheels just about a foot of the ground from a dead stop once in a while if you get the right angle and everything.
My big fear is it just being too heavy like 4X4's used to be (10 years ago)
I have been looking at the Rancher ES but its only a 329

i was wondering if a 5500 was a good price for a rancher at with gps and all that good stuff. I was also wondering how good are they a climbing hills in the auto range and how are they in the mud. In 2 wheel drive will they throw mud or just enough power to make it through. tell me what you know it will help me out alot

I dont think you will find much better than that since it is still new. If you see any better, let us know. I have seen some awesome deals for the 03 ranchers. $4300 for a rancher ES 4x4. Looks like the dealers are trying hard to get rid of the 03's to make room for the new plastic of the 04.

Rancherbob. The dealers in Utah are Steadmans in Tooele, (435 882 3565), and Centerville Honda(801 296 9727). Steadmans was out of the 03 ranchers, but had rubicons and rincons for cheap. Rincons were $6400. Dont recall what the rubis were. Centerville had the Ranchers. You better hurry, I cant imagine that they have many left at those prices. Dont waste your time at the wyoming dealers.

I bought both our ATV's from Steadmans. I would highly recommend them to anybody. Allot of my friends have bought Yamaha's, Polaris, and motorcycles from them too. Everyone I personally know who have bought from them would buy again from them. Too bad you live so far away, they have a great service department too (from what my non-Honda friends tell me).

I just bought mine 2 weeks ago for $5199 plus extras (winch, etc.) It doesn't pop wheelies too well because of the weight, but I just love the transmission and the ride. I also have a Yam Timberwolf if I want to pop wheelies and need quick handling, but the new Rancher is one sweet ATV. I bought mine mostly for hunting, anyway.

i bought my 04 rancher 400AT 4x4 in july and love it goes any where i want it to 2wheel drive in mud no prob, bought mine for $6.600 out the door with a 2 year warrenty . id run out tommorrow if i had the money and buy another one. the onlything i think is a pan in the rear is that every 600hundred miles u have to have the valves checked and adjusted . not including oil and filter change.

hey rancher2 I noticed earlier that you said you bought your rancher at and a winch for $5199. where did you buy your rancher from if you don't mind sharing, because the cheapest place i found was $5199 for the rancher alone. thanks
