Poll: Are you pleased with the new 450R?

Yes and No, it's not what I'd hoped for but it's definitely a step above the EX. The aftermarket will be all over this thing so it will be a serious contender in any class you care to put it in. It's a base machine to build on like every other entry, none will ever be perfect for everyone. Take it and create what you need.....

Anytime you get another factory to step up it's a good thing. There are some definite improvements, but seems a bit tame on the motor description. Gonna have to wait for the ride. Congrats Honda loyals. Get these factories duking it out, and we all win!

No about the quad but like someone else said its definately a step up from the 400ex. I thought honda shouldve gone all out and made a totally awesome quad but the specs on the thing dont impress me that much. I cant wait for the YFZ vs TRX flaming starts up

yes !----they took the best chassis design out there and improved it, then added an aluminum sub-frame, installed a purpose designed CR450 motor---what else could we have asked for? The only other thing that might have been nice would have been an aluminum frame, but there is a reason they didn`t use an aluminum frame--maybe, as we have seen with cannondale, the MSRP on such a quad would be too pricey, or they didn`t feel that it would be as structurally reliable in a quad as the steel frame , and therefore didn`t want to risk that.
When all the newer 4 strokes started coming about everyone was knocking the 400EX for not having water cooling or not having the power to compete with the other manufacturers. Now Honda has addressed all the worthy complaints (worthy doesn`t include electric start or reverse on a race quad) and it seems as though everyone finds something else to complain about. Most of those complaining seem to be those that have either purchased a quad recently , and now are pissed for not waiting(but will deny that), or just those who like to bash honda, and ride something other than honda.
As far as I am concerned all other manufacturers have been trying to catch up with Honda since the 250R, and I have to admit there getting good at copying Honda`s, at least 15 yr old designs. Look at the Z400 or the YFZ frames and there almost exact copies of hondas proven geometry.

no, i like the 450r
no, i like the looks
yes, i like the HRC
We all knew the crf450 engine was going in it anyways so why are we so excited it has a crf450 engine in it? That was the easy part. The engine isnt quite up to par with the YFZ, but i think it will have great trail and desert racing ergonomics. As for duning and mx, stick with the YFZ. My two cents, peace.
