stoppies
#2
Method #1
Get a quad with a short wheelbase, and good/new front tires. On a solid surface (asphalt) try coasting at low speeds and leaning over the bars a little and gently applying the front brakes. At each attempt grab a little more front brake until the rear starts to come up. IMO a good quad for stoppies is a Blaster.
Method #2
Get a large (~400cc) 4x4 Polaris. Put it in reverse. Then lean over the handlebars, press the "override" button, and pin the throttle. Wear a helmet and be ready to say hello to the pavement.

my yfz is great for stopies i could get her to flip all the way over if i wanted to but i also own a blaster and tried it the brakes are horrible on mine so its impossible. but new i bet it would be great. glad others have tried it on quads.

i let the fourwheeler down rev from first gear and i stand up and apply the brakes a lil bit then i pin them hard and it comes right up but if you stand its alot easier because you wont feel like you are going to flip and you can move your weight pretty easily

The reason I stated that a Blaster was good for stoppies was b/c ~9 years ago when I was doing stoppies the Blaster had a very short wheelbase and was very light compared to most other quads.
I've never attempted a stoppie on a YFZ or 400EX, they weren't around back then. I've also never performed the stunt standing up.
Anyone other than me ever used method #2?
In highschool I worked at a dealer and got to ride just about every Jap bike with 2 or 4 wheels made from 1995-1996.

i've done them on my mountain bike so many times i can rotate 180 degrees then do the same on my rear tire and just keep going for 5 or 6 rotations. however, i can't get the rear tires of my 400EX off the ground, even on a city street! i think it has something to do with the fact that my front shocks r very soft, but i still expected to be able to do it.

If you check out this thread http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthre...5&pagenumber=1 I posted some tips there. My user id is JLanphear and it should be in a couple of my posts on the first page.
Good luck.
