440 Goodies - Your thoughts?
This weekend is good. I've got invited by a group going to Horsefall. I also got invited by the Out4Sand crew to go to SandLake. But, I had already committed to Horsefall so thats where I'll be. I really dont need a riding buddy this weekend, but perhaps another weekend would be good. I usually just go alone and either make new friends or find someone I know. Sometimes thats not always the best way to go!

What grind are you getting from Webb Cam? If you get the 463/9i be sure to check clearances. I had to recut the relief pockets on the piston for the 463/9i to clear, but that was with 1 mm larger intake/exhaust valves. I have had no problems with head gasket on a 14:1 (7 months) since I went with the shim type gasket. I would seriously consider getting a Carrillo rod with that high of compression. A heavy duty cam chain adds a little security as well. You will notice a big difference, but will still have a hard time with properly tuned piped Raptors.

NICE!
I have a similar set up but the FCR. You will like it very much. I am curious about that carb. let us know.
Head gaslet blowing issues are not from compression per se. More likely its a sleve/top of cyl clearance issue. If its done properly like pudljumper says, it will be ok. Watch your jettting and change your oil alot you will be fine. I bet you are pupmed.
I agree w/ pudljumper, the Carillo rod would not be a bad idea, I have one. I have seen a rod through a case, it was a 13:1 motor.
GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN ,LET US KNOW!

we have a curtis sparks 440 with a je 12.5 to one piston we have had 3 head studs pull on it. the last one was heli coiled. ct racing and hetrick racing make a 12mm head stud kit for high compression 440's. i would highly recomend them. also a bigger oil tank would help keep the big bore cool.
