Default 2-strokes cheap?

Seeing as 2-strokes will be banned from being manufactured soon, do you think you'll be able to find 2-stroke ATVs (or any machine with a 2-stroke engine in it for that matter) for a lot cheaper than it would normally be?

I predict the price of 300exs will go down as well as 400exs. 2-strokes will significantly drop in 2 years and therefore I must sell my Polaris Trailboss.

They are not banning 2 strokes from production, just making the regulations much stricter. 2 stroke ATVs might get cheaper because they may choose not to make them anymore due to the higher cost of production to make them pass the new standards in 2006. Most other machines like outboard motors will still be manufactured though because a lot of them are now fuel injected and already meet the emissions requirements so they will most likely not get any cheaper.

With ATVs its possible that used ones could actually go up in price because a lot of people still want them but cant buy a new one anymore.

I’m not so sure that we are never going to see a 2 stroke ATV produced again after 2006 though. They could be made to pass the stricter standards just like boat motors (fuel injection). Some might already pass, like a GasGas for instance (odd that GasGas would put all that effort into designing a 2 stroke quad if they thought they could only sell them for a few years). It will come down to whether or not the manufacturers think they can sell them for enough $s to still make a profit.

If anything I would think the price would go up because people would want them but won't be able to buy them new like someone else stated. It's all about supply and demand!
