Is there any possible way for a 300ex to smoke a 400ex? My friend is pretty much certain about getting a 400ex and he's buying a 2004 sometime this week (although he could be fibbing[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]isgust[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. I know a 400ex isn't fo rme because it doesn't have reverse. Reverse is essential to me. What I'm thinking though, is that he's gonna have a stock 400ex and I'll get a 300ex, pipe it, change the filter which will probably give it more power. With that power, I'll change my sprockets and I'll beat him. Is this possible?

uhhh u might be alittle closer but no. heres a way to beat his 400, buy the 300ex and put a 250r motor[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

bore it out, change the sprockets, new pipe, re-jet, new pistons, new cam, and run it on alcohol. then ur 300EX might go fast. i have a 300EX and a 400EX and the 400Ex smokes the 300EX in a gear lower than the 300EX.

 

Sure - drop my TC 363 cc race engine in your 300 ex, add my Lectron 44/38/and modified intake, hook up my TC supertrapp, TC cdi, add a decent filter, and watch your buddy whine.........This combo raced happily against Raptors, 440 ex.s 250r's, 330's etc. etc. and did NOT get whupped ..........didn't always win, but usually ran in the top 2 to 6 out of about 15 of anything in flat track......definitely faster than stock Cannondale, stock z 400's etc etc.(sorry about the plug........but it's at least the truth lol)

for all you people getting laughs out of this thread, well a 300ex wasnt meant to compete with a 400ex, it was made to be very quick in tight trails etc. the 400ex was made to be a racer on mx fast trails etc. But there is a way to get it to outrun a 400ex, just get the 396 kit put in it and a pipe. but one draw back, they are hard to find.

 

ya its possible.... theres 300exs that beat banshees, piping, jetting, and filter really wakes it up, im going to bore mine 50 by the end of the month, if i can pull enough extra money to buy a raptor

 

btw my goal is to get this to beat raptors, banshees and all(thinking of a 330, 352, or a 383)
