whats up everyone iam trying to do a 416 igot a je piston ? on the piston there is arrow does this point to the frount of the bike (exhaust side) an also there is a N on the top ring does this face up. also running a hotcam stg 2 do u adjust valves at factory spec or what any other info on this buildup would bea great help thanks alot

 

Yes, the arrow points to the exhaust side. If in doubt, look at the valve cut-outs on the top of the piston and size them up with the valves in the head (exhaust valves are bigger). I am nearly 100% on letters facing upwards on the rings. Did they come with a little sheet of paper with directions? If not, I'd face them up. On the valves, I believe the suggested clearances from Honda are .005 or .006, but call a local shop to find out for sure. Whatever it is, I always like to set them just a tad bit tighter. So if Honda says .006, then I would go .005. Probably doesn't make a difference, I'm just kinda used to a tight fit[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

thanks 4the info .it came with papers but it had info on gap spec only nothing else . its running now an it is a lot diff. 416 , 11.1, stag 2 hotcam port n polish ,yousi full , k&n, steelflex, 180mn 42 pilot c-12 RUN FAST AN HARD
