Help w/85' 250sx
#1
I am new to website; but have found best help with anything is find someone who's done it before. which i need help with this 3-wheeler badly! it was in storage for years, the thumb accelerator cable is broken, the carb just pours gas out when we tried it, & we have no idea how the fuel lines run, or if the carb is stuck. does anyone have any fuel system diagrams? or what's the best manual to get that has diagrams? it has electric start, but can bypass that right now by kick-starting if i can get the fuel cable/lines right. thanks for any help provided, jada

jada, there is only one fuel line running from the petcock on the left side of the tank to the carburetor. all the other lines are vent lines and overflow lines. the throttle cable enters the carburetor through the top right side and has a big silver nut on it. to remove it you either have to take the carb off and rotate it counterclockwise, or disconnect the thumb throttle end of the cable first and the rotate the cable counterclockwise also.if the carb is overflowing, the float is probablly stuck. i would recomend getting a carb rebuild kit from your local dealer and rebuilding it. they retail for about $15 and will make that old bike run significantly better, just be careful removing the pilot screw, they break easily. use penatrating oil on it to loosen it. for new cable, contact dennis kirk. they have pretty good prices for the cables you need. you can find them at www.denniskirk.com. oh, as for the choke cable, that is available through dennis kirk also and that can be changed with the carb in the bike as long as you move the frame air inlet tube. sorry i don't have a diagram, but you can also get a service/repair manual from dennis kirk for about $20. hope this helps you and good luck.
