If the 400ex will not start

Can i bump start it and go ride?
When the battery is low.

sure, stick in in 4th or 5th and start pushing (hopefully downhillthen dump the clutch when at or around running speed

yes,,,,,,,as a matter of fact, I try to "pop" start my bike whenever I have the chance. I normally stop on downhill slopes to take a trail break, and I always point the bike in a direction which allows me to start up & leave at a moments notice. your 400 will easily start in second gear on a slight slope. no sense wearing out a starter when well all ride up & down hills

Just make sure your ignition switch is on and kill switch set for on as well. I've popped my clutch to start my 400EX in 2nd gear with no troubles.

yea I usually use second gear.
