I Have a had several Honda 250R's and loved them all. I have had a couple tricked out bikes and one with a CT310 kit. But I have always wanted one with a CR500 motor. I am considering building one or trying to find one for sale. Has anyone done this before or know someone that has? I am a little concerned about some of the things I have heard about them. I have heard that 250R's with a CR500 motor have a severe vibration. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not. And if it is, what causes it and is there a way to correct it? Any info would be appreciated!

Your only concern would be vibration as the 500 is not counterbalanced. I have seen quads that have CR500s in them and they cannot be gussetted enough to stop breakage. Even when they are reinforced heavly, you cant ride them for more than about 10min without your hands going numb. I would suggest one of the larger cylinder kits for the 250 as they can be made to pump out some serious power. Check this 425 kit out

kinda pricy, but gives you an example of whats out there, also, check the 250/500 hybrid, I think this is the route id take. This is where they modify the lower unit of a 250r to accept a 500 cylinder, ill send you a link as it has a "forbidden" word in it from another fourm, apparently this place is scared of a little competition. What a bunch of BS.
