i got a 97 300ex with racing plastic, k&n filter,dynojet jet kit, works shocks, i took off alot of unneeded stuff for aerodynamics too and with 18 inch race cut turf tamers i only top out at 55mph theres gotta be something wrong can ne1 help me im plannin on puttin in a big bore pipe and cams but i wanna find out whats wrong before i put nething in it. it also sputters at high rpm sometimes, but it always does topped out ty

i got 20 inch fast trekkers and that dont seem to help much i still lose to my dads grizzly

 

That's the speed of a 300ex. You don't have any problem

if you want to go faster change the gearing or buy a 400ex, your problem is ITS A 300!!

yeah with 18 inch tires it isnt gonna top out that high but yoiu will get there very fast. A piped 300ex with 20 inch tires should go about 55, with stuff taken off to leasen the weight it should go a little faster so your quad seems about right.

 

he's right your problem is the 300ex sell it and buy a 400ex

 

or 450r

 

thats basically the top speed its only a 300
