I was just wondering what the best pipe for a 250R is? I will be mostly tight trail riding and a few fast dirt roads. I just bought the quad not to long ago and I really love the power. If anyone has anygood pics of their 250R please send em' to me at stang_351@hotmail.com

Thanks a lot.
by the way my name is Brandon

I have had a FMF Fatty and now have a LRD Team B pipe. The LRD is much better. You can tune it for what ever type of riding you are doing. They are great pipes. I have also heard good things about Paul Turner Type 6 pipes, but never had one. Try doing a search to see what others had said about pipes, this subject has came up before.

If you go to Macdizzy.com, the UNDISPUTED knowledgeable two stroke ONE, he prefers the CT Racing Whale pipe. He said that he was not impressed with the LRD. If you have never visited his site YOU MUST. You will learn more about your "R" than you EVER knew existed!!! He is quite a humble man, and will tell it like it is. Within the last few weeks I have added the Paul Turner Type 6 and LOVE IT! I HAD a LRD and put it on my quad but I wasn't as impressed with it as I am with the Type 6. I am running a rather large carb for use with a low-mid pipe but the midrange hit is VERY TORQUEY! The old FMF torque pipe I had can't touch it!!!

I have an LRD team B pipe for racing but I also have a Paul Turner type 6 pipe for trail riding. My engine is ported for high rev so I lose a little top end but on trails the torge makes up for it. The PT makes really good torque and bottom end. The whale pipe is a top end only pipe, mostly used for sand drags and sand duning. I used to have an FMF fatty but I sold it because I didn't like the gold colored finish, it made good midrange power though.

There really is no 1 "best" pipe for the 250R. Each pipe does something a little better than another. If you're going to do primarily woods riding, with some runs on fire roads, a Paul Turner midrange would work well. It's got good low and great midrange, but signs off a little early on top. The LRD's biggest advantage is that it's tuneable to your riding conditions, if you're willing to mess with it. CT's national midrange pipe is also a good pipe, in that it pulls smoothly from bottom to top (more on top than the PT mid), with no hard hit in the power. Like one of the other posts said, do a search on this topic in this and the Performance Mods forum for more information.
