Default Honda 250ex stray rubber hose...where does it go?

I was looking a my carb on the 250ex today and noticed a black rubber hose coming directly out from underneath it. It just hangs there, now to me this likely is some kind of overflow or drain tube for the carb. Am I right in this assumption? The end of the tube looks a little wider, this lead me to wonder however if the end of this tube was supposed to be attached to something?

yup, its an overflow for the bowl in the bottom of the carb so if y ou wheelie or somethign the carb will not flood and stall

Thanks very much...that is what I kind of thought, but I am not very technical, although I would like to learn this stuff.
